CATHOLIC BISHOP REGAINS FREEDOM HOURS AFTER POPE FRANCIS' PRAYERS

 

The Auxillary Bishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese Most Rev. Moses Chikwe and his driver, Mr. Ndubuisi Robert has been released mere hours after Pope Francis prayed for their release in his new year Angelus Message at the Vatican.

 

Bishop Chikwe and Mr. Ndubuisi were abducted on the 27th of December, 2020 around Site and Services, New Owerri, Imo State. He regained his freedom on the 1st of January, 2021.

The Archbishop of Owerri, Anthony Obinna in his press release thanked the Imo State Government and Anambra State Government, who combined effort and resources to ensure the safe rescue of the Bishop and his staff.
